Police have arrested suspect who earlier barricaded himself inside a US supermarket with people inside.
“We have successfully taken the suspect into custody without incident,” the Los Angeles police tweeted.
People were earlier seen running from the Trader Joe’s store. One person, a woman, died after being shot by the suspect, police said.
Police said officers were now “clearing the location”, and the area the area would remain closed as “investigation continues”.
The suspect earlier fired shots after a police pursued his car. He crashed the car, running inside the shop.

In a series of tweets, the LAPD said the shooting occurred in Newton Division at 1.30 pm after which the suspect fled. “The suspect was located via LoJack and a pursuit ensued at which point the suspect fired multiple rounds at pursuing officers,”they tweeted.
On being chased, the police said, the man crashed his vehicle and ran inside the Trader Joe’s store and shot a woman.
“The suspect then crashed his vehicle at which point an officer involved shooting occurred. At the termination of the pursuit, the suspect fled into the Trader Joe’s. Inside the Trader Joe’s, a female victim was struck by gunfire. She was pronounced dead at scene,” the LAPD tweeted.
The suspect held multiple victims hostage within US supermarket, according to the police.
The LAPD said the police they finally managed to make him walk out of the location.
“He then proceeded to hold multiple victims hostage within the location. Through the hard work of multiple LAPD entities, the suspect walked out of the location, and asked that he put handcuffs on himself, and was taken into custody,” they tweeted.
The suspect is yet to be identified. His police pursuit apparently began after the man shot his grandmother and girlfriend, according to reports.
US President Donald Trump earlier tweeted that he was watching the situation “very closely”.
The police said the investigation was on. “This remains an active investigation, and the area will remain closed as our investigation continues,” LAPD tweeted.
