A gunman in Southern California went on a shooting spree and killed five people, including his wife, before turning the gun on himself, said authorities.
Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood said that shootings began shortly before 5:30 pm on Wednesday and occurred in Bakersfield, about 90 miles north of Los Angeles.
There’s no immediate word on how the other victims were related.
According to the media report, the suspected gunman carjacked a vehicle with a woman and a child, both of whom managed to escape.
The initial reports suggest that the man killed his wife and a man at a trucking company after which he killed another man nearby.
Later, the suspected gunman killed two people at a local residence and at last he aimed the gun at himself and committed suicide after an armed sheriff’s deputy confronted him.
