The Punjab provincial government was placed in an awkward position on Friday as the authorities wrongly put up banners carrying pictures of Russian President Vladimir Putin while welcoming the President of Tatarstan who was to visit Pakistan.
The banners carried pictures of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with Russian President Putin instead of President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov who began his three-day visit to Pakistan on Friday, Geo News reported.
The pictures of the Russian strongman were removed after the local administration was mocked by social media users.
