“Pakistan, as a responsible member of the International community, upheld its commitment from the very beginning of the case by appearing before the honourable court for the provisional measures hearing despite a very short notice. Having heard the judgment, Pakistan will now proceed as per law,” the Pakistan foreign office said in a statement.
Pakistan on Wednesday sought to give its own spin to the judgment of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case, saying the Hague-based Court has decided not to acquit/release him, thus not accepting India’s plea.
Islamabad once again claimed that Jadhav was an Indian Navy Commander who entered Pakistan without a visa on an authentic Indian passport with a fake alias Hussain Mubarak Patel.

Jadhav, it said, was responsible for acts of sabotage, espionage and multiple terrorist incidents in which scores of innocent Pakistani citizens were killed.
Pakistan claimed that Jadhav has confessed to his involvement in all these acts during his trial in a Pakistani court in front of a judicial magistrate. “This is a clear case of Indian state terrorism,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Science and Technology Minister Ch Fawad Hussain, a close confidant of Prime Minister Imran Khan, said the ICJ has not only rejected India’s case for Jadhav’s acquittal but also upheld the jurisdiction of the Pakistan military court in the case. He also congratulated the Pakistani legal team for putting up a ‘great fight’.
“India must acknowledge her policies towards Pak are wrong and needs positive review of policy. Doctrine to weaken Pak is hurting the region need to rethink on Kashmir narrative and resume talks to settle issues. Sponsoring terrorism in Pak won’t make things better,” he tweeted.
