Meta receives 47,538 reports via Indian grievance mechanism for FB, Insta in Sep
Social media giant Meta received 33,422 reports through the Indian grievance mechanism for Facebook in the month of September, and responded to all of these reports.
For years, Twitter users have been demanding an edit option, on the lines of Facebook, to be able to correct a post with errors
Is there going to be a Twitter edit button finally? A tweet posted by the micro blogging platform’s official handle in reply to a user has fuelled such a speculation.
If Twitter actually introduces this feature, it will answer the prayers of many Twitter.
On October 22, make-up YouTuber Jeffree Star posted a tweet saying Twitter must introduce an edit option.

“Dear Twitter, we need an edit button on our tweets. – Sincerely, everyone,” write Star, who has more than 2 million followers.
Twitter made a rare acknowledgement, and replied that her request had been “noted”.
Dear everyone,
Noted.
💙, Twitter.

In July this year, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West fuelled such a speculation when she posted that she had discussed with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about introduction of edit function.
“I had a very good convo with @jack this weekend at Kanye’s bday and I think he really heard me out on the edit button,” she wrote.
In his reply, Jack said in a lighter vein: “Now I see why I was invited!”

While Facebook has long introduced an edit function, Twitter has always dodged this demand. Facebook allows its users to modify their posts, though retains a version history attached to the particular post.
Twitter users have been demanding this feature for a long time now. At present, they have to delete an entire post if there is an error or typo, and in the process lose the impressions made on it.
Twitter’s public acknowledgement of Star’s post has given hope that the social media giant may be open to the idea of introducing the feature.
The idea, however, invited negative reactions too, with many urging Twitter not to give in to the demand.
“Twitter, stop ruining Twitter. An edit function is the second worst idea you’ve ever had, just behind letting Nazis run around like they own the place,” said a user.
