Going offline from Twitter would be a radical change for Musk as his tweets have often landed him in trouble.
In one such case, Musk is currently facing a defamation case in Los Angeles by a man who helped in rescuing the 12-boy team trapped in an underwater cave in Thailand last year.
In one of the tweets, the Tesla chief called the British caver a “pedo guy” following a public spat between the two after Musk travelled all the way to Thailand and offered help in rescuing the boys.
In the recent court, hearing Musk said that he did not mean to call or accuse the British caver of pedophilia when he referred to him as “pedo guy.”
To further clarify his statement Musk said that the term was commonly used in South Africa, where he grew up, as synonymous with “creepy old man.”
The case is set to go to trial on December 2.
