Domestic original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and Internet of Things (IoT) brand Smartron on Thursday partnered with Hyderabad-based IoT startup MiQasa to build and strengthen a strong product ecosystem in the country.
Smartron also invested in MiQasa that develops smart things such as smart switches, locks, cameras and controls for home automation. The financial terms were not disclosed.
Smartron “tronX” is an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered IoT platform that is helping several organisations with building personalised experiences for their customers.

“Smartron was founded with a vision of building a strong product ecosystem in India across IoT verticals and this association with MiQASA is one more step in that journey,” Mahesh Lingareddy, Founder and Chairman, Smartron, said in a statement.
“Smartron is the first Indian company building an AI powered IoT platform in India and this partnership would definitely enable us to push the boundaries of AI and machine learning,” added Santosh Kumar Patil, Founder and President at MiQASA Inc.
MiQASA, founded in April 2015, was set up with a vision of making smart home automation a convenient proposition for an average home.
