South Korean smartphone giant Samsung may reduce its smartphone shipments by 13 per cent next year.

According to Gizmochina, Samsung missed the shot of selling as many smartphone units as the company had expected. The sudden supply chain issue caused by Covid-19 pandemic is accountable for this decline.

The goal is to reduce the shipments by  30 million units or around 13 per cent.

The report stated that despite the smartphone manufacturer’s ability to increase its market share in terms of shipments during the third quarter of this year compared to the second quarter increased, overall it experienced a decrease of roughly 8% when compared year over year.

According to recent reports, Samsung will concentrate on selling 270 million foldable devices by next year.

The estimate of 260 million units sold in 2022 was around 10 million more than the last year, and the company wanted to increase that by 10 million next year.

Samsung is concentrating on foldable series, the Fold and Flip,  in order to achieve this goal because it could increase profitability as opposed to just sheer sales volumes overall.
