The successor of first Galaxy Tab Active, ‘Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2’ with MIL-STD-810 certification, IP68 water and dust resistance has been announced by the South Korean company.
The rugged Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 with MIL-STD-810 can survive excessive pressure, temperatures, environments, vibration and drops. It has 1.2 meter anti-shock inbox protective cover, and comes with S Pen support and Bixby voice assistant support.
The Galaxy Tab Active 2 features a new kind of fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button at the front and facial recognition for convenient hands-free access, says Samsung.
For specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 tablet features an 8-inch TFT display with HD (1280 x 800 pixels) display. Inside it gets an octa-core Exynos 7880 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. It runs Samsung’s TouchWiz UI based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 has been announced for the Netherlands and will be available at EUR 500. It will be available from October 2017 in select markets. The company is said to launch LTE model as well, but there’s no word on the availability as yet.
