Chinese smartphone maker Oppo on Wednesday launched the A83 smartphone that claims to deliver natural selfie experience to young consumers through its ‘AI Beauty Recognition Technology’.
The Oppo A83 packs 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6763T (Helio P23) processor clocked at 2.5GHz.

Upfront, the Oppo A83 features a 5.7-inch HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) 2.5D display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone has a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and an 8MP front facing camera with AI Beauty Recognition Technology’ and enables Face Unlocking.

The ‘AI Beauty Recognition Technology’ employs a Cloud database from premium suppliers that have sufficient power to support diversified facial recognition in smart terminals. The AI can learn automatically once it has amassed enough imaging data, says Oppo.
The handset is backed by a 3180mAh battery.

The OPPO A83 is priced at Rs. 13,990. It comes in Black and Gold colour options. It will be available from Flipkart and Amazon starting January 20.
