The anticipated release of the upcoming iPhone 15-series is around a year away. However, rumors about the new series have already begun to surface.

Cirrus Logic, the official Apple supplier, may have hinted that the global tech giant may use solid-state touch-based buttons on iPhones next year, claims research company Barclays.

According to the report, Cirrus Logic informed shareholders in a letter delivered this month that it is still in contact with a “key customer” and plans to launch a new HPMS component on the smartphone market by next year.

In October, renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the iPhone 15 Pro versions would have solid-state volume and power buttons.

The high-performance mixed-signal (HPMS) chips from Cirrus Logic feature haptic drivers for the Taptic Engine found in Apple iPhones. The second half of next year, or the “back half of next year,” according to the company’s CEO John Forsyth, is when this new component is expected to hit the market.

Apple might officially announce  detail about this new hardware and software based component in the second half of 2023 coincides with the anticipated September 2023 launch of Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro variants.
