After releasing its Raptor Lake desktop CPUs in 2022, Intel has now announced its 13th generation HX-series laptop CPUs at CES 2023.
The Intel Core i9-13980HX, which boasts 24 cores and a 5.6GHz turbo frequency, was unveiled at CES. It is the first time a laptop CPU has enabled a 24-core configuration. Intel has claimed it as the fastest mobile processor in the world.”

Intel states that when compared to the identical 12th Gen CPUs, single-thread performance can be up to 11% faster and multitasking performance can be up to 49% faster.

Additionally, it is stated that gaming performance will be up to 12% faster than its predecessor. Additionally, DDR4 (up to 3,200MHz) and DDR5 are supported, and there is support for up to 128GB of RAM (up to 5,600MHz).
The most recent 13th Gen mobile HX CPUs from Intel support Wi-Fi 6E, Thunderbolt 4, and Bluetooth 5.2 as well.
Intel also showcased the 13th Gen variations of Intel’s 28W P-series for thin and light laptops and the 15W U-series for ultralight laptops, foldable laptops, and beyond, are being released.
The P-series can support up to 14 cores with a maximum turbo speed of 5.2GHz and compatibility for both DDR4 and DDR5. The top-of-the-line U-series CPU (i7-1365U) has 10 cores in total 2 performance cores and 8 other cores, with a maximum turbo clock of 5.2GHz.
Major players like, Acer, Dell, Asus, Lenovo, and Samsung have already claimed that their computers will soon hit the global market with the intel’s 13th generation processors.
