In the latest Twitter saga, at least 5.4 million Twitter user data  have been stolen via an internal bug and posted online on a hacker forum.

Currently, the Micro-blogging platform is witnessing a series of major changes, as the new CEO, Elon Musk is planning to revamp the Twitter ecosystem.

According to Bleeping Computer, the vast amount of data includes scraped public data as well as private phone numbers and email addresses that are not intended for public use.

The story was first broken on Twitter by security expert Chad Loder, who was quickly suspended from the platform.

“I have just received evidence of a massive Twitter data breach affecting millions of Twitter accounts in the EU and the US. I have contacted a sample of the  impacted accounts, and they verified the accuracy of the stolen data. No sooner than 2021 did this breach happen,” said Loder in a tweet.

Though, Elon Musk has not made any official comment on this, but Twitter has suspended the whistle blower “Chad Loder” account after the major revelation.

The majority of the information was openly available, including Twitter IDs, names, login names, locations, and verified status. Private information like phone numbers and email addresses was also included.

As hackers released 5.4 million records online, an even larger data dump has allegedly been created using the same vulnerability, according to the report.
