Indian Railways has directed senior officers of the Railway Board, Zonal Railways, and Divisions to conduct vigilance raids at various sections, lobbies, maintenance centers, workplaces, etc. to prevent derailments, Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD), and other types of accidents.
Due to the non-availability of coach assistants, many railway passengers are facing a lot of problems. This is evident from the 3,000 complaints registered daily with the Indian Railways. A large number of these complaints are related to passenger facilities in the coach.
The zonal railway is all set to run 81 train services in the suburban section from 11 November.
The zonal railways are likely to seek deployment of local police from the state government for handling of passengers at and outside station premises.
