India is the only country among the world's top steel producing nations to post a growth in steel production during April this year, according to figures compiled by the World Steel Association.
World Steel Association had earlier said that in India, steel demand is expected to accelerate gradually, mainly driven by public investment.
India's crude steel output in April 2018 increased 5.6 per cent to 8.7 million tonne (MT) as compared to the year-ago month, the World Steel Association has said.
