Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday spoke to the parents of 26-year-old Anna Sebastian Perayil, a Chartered Accountant with Ernst and Young (EY) India, who allegedly died due to work-related stress, and assured them all possible help for their fight for justice for their daughter.
According to mental health expert and lead author Professor Gordon Parker, some conventional tools used to diagnose burnout focus on work-related stress, however, the impact is much more extensive.
Many studies all across the world illustrate the financial costs of work-related stress and the psychosocial risks that manifest and can be quantified in a variety of forms, e.g. productivity loss, health care costs, absenteeism, etc.
