Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) Anurag Singh Thakur’s tatement came in the wake of protest by the Indian wrestlers against president of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh accusing him of sexual harassment.
The notice has been issued for failing to register FIR in matter of sexual harassment case of women wrestlers.
Terming allegations against the officials of WFI are serious and worrying, the Leader of Opposition in Haryana Assembly said, “The government should take strict action against the culprits by conducting a fair and transparent investigation.”
The Sports Ministry has sought an explanation from WFI and directed it to furnish a reply within the next 72 hours on the allegations made.
