A very large number of persons worldwide had been infected earlier with different variants of the coronavirus. A large number are also fully vaccinated. All these persons have attained some level of immunity; they have started to produce proteins that can protect them against infection.
The study has revealed that about 68 percent of food and beverage products have excess amounts of at least one ingredient of concern whereas 32 percent are within the scientific thresholds recommended WHO regional standards.
“We cannot end this pandemic unless we solve the vaccine crisis,” said the WHO chief, even as he criticised wealthier nations for rushing to administer booster jabs to healthier people, stating that while vaccines are “in every country’s best interest” the emergence of the new variant ~ a highly-mutated coronavirus ~ and other such variants will continue to cause concern until the entire world’s population is equally vaccinated.
