Waterways to Success

Being a state with a great network of rivers and expansive water bodies, West Bengal boasts of one of the longest navigable waterway networks in the country, with approximately 4,593 kilometers of rivers and canals, of which 97 per cent are navigable.

Govt extends local train services till 10pm

In the evening, there was pandemonium in stations like Howrah, Sealdah, Bidhannagar and Burdwan where passengers were fighting for space to catch the train. At Howrah Station, a large number of commuters protested in front of the station master room demanding to push the timing of the last local train.
