Out of the 40 candidates mentioned in the list, as many as 21 candidates (52 per cent) were recruited as Bengali teachers. History comes second 10 or 25 per cent illegal recruitments.
Maximum number of illegal recruitments of teachers in the state-run schools were made for English, as per the records of West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC).
The raid was carried out on Saturday. The city police said that the businessman, Sailesh Pande's two bank deposits of Rs 20 crore have been frozen.
Agency sources said that besides checking the transaction details of these frozen bank accounts, sleuths are simultaneously the different shale companies that are currently under their companies.

A Public Interest Litigation was filed at the Calcutta High Court alleging irregularities and corruption in primary teachers' appointments.
