State Task Force (STF) personnel of West Bengal Police arrested an arms dealer of Kolkata from Natunpally in district headquarters of Suri in Birbhum district and also seized sophisticated firearms and ammunition from his possession.
Officials of both the West Bengal Police and Kolkata Police, probing the fake passport rackets in the state, are trying to track the links of these rackets with those involved in cross-border human trafficking, sources said.

Sources said that acting on a specific tip-off, the officers of STF zeroed in on the house of the alleged illegal arms dealer and nabbed Mohammed Arif (40).
The elections in the CCB, which is located in the residential area of Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the state Legislative Assembly, are scheduled on 15 December. Around 430 candidates will contest in 108 seats of the CCB.
The high court has allowed the agency to file it's petition and listed the matter for hearing today.
According to the police notice, both the officers along with their injured colleague will come as witnesses for the purpose of investigation.
Snubbed by the Calcutta High Court, West Bengal Police have withdrawn a supplementary charge-sheet in a past murder case against suspended Trinamul Congress leader Sheikh Shahjahan.
The police said that stern legal action is being initiated against the BJP leader.
