Deucha Pachami coal project: Tribal people meet Suvendu with concerns
A delegation of indigenous and displaced residents from Birbhum’s Deucha Pachami met Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari at the West Bengal Assembly today.
A delegation of indigenous and displaced residents from Birbhum’s Deucha Pachami met Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari at the West Bengal Assembly today.
Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, and other BJP MLAs have cancelled their planned visit to Ayodhya to offer prayers at the Ram Temple.
Banerjee also launched a scathing attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not giving any statement on the Manipur issue in the Parliament.
He said though the official death toll in the blast is three, local people suspect that some more people have been killed in the explosion.
“We are doubly sure that some among the MLAs of the BJP would cast cross-votes in favour of the Opposition candidate,” quipped the veteran parliamentarian.
Nearly 30 minutes before the House took a lunch break, the opposition leader, during a discussion on the governor's inaugural address, raised the matter of Nandigram election to take a dig at Banerjee, drawing flak from the treasury bench.
The BJP workers also complained about Trinamool workers "unleashing terror" in poll-bound districts in collusion with a section of the state police.
Mr Dhankhar had said that if there were different points of view, there should not be any confrontation between him and the state government.
The Governor's visit comes in the wake of Speaker's unprecedented action on Tuesday adjourning the House for two days saying Bills scheduled to be placed before the members were yet to get the green signal from Dhankhar.
Left Front and Congress MLAs were not present in the House when the Bill was introduced as they had earlier decided to boycott the Assembly
