The Calcutta High Court order cancelling appointments made after the recruitment test in 2016 prompted the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) to move the Supreme Court (SC) challenging the HC verdict.

WBSSC after that started the process of terminating the services of those 1,911 and stopped the process of issuing appointment letters to the remaining 908 candidates.

Through this fresh notification issued from the office of the state's commissioner of school education, the respective district inspectors of schools have been asked to intimate the non- teaching staffs concerned in their respective districts about the Calcutta High Court's deadline to present their points of arguments in proving their innocence.
