The Delhi government on Friday launched a pilot project involving drones to spray water in the hotspot zones for reducing pollution.
Even without any rain in the last three days inflow of thousands of acre-feet of water to the upper dam reservoirs continues.
Though the rainfall has stopped since last night, the Damodar Valley Reservoir Regulatory Committee (DVRRC), the competent authority for releasing water from dams of River Damodar has released about 1.70 lakh cusecs of water from its Panchet and Maithon Dams.
Despite no or minimal rainfall in the six sub-basins of Damodar, the Damodar Valley Corporation has still released water today from its Maithon and Panchet dams.
He also said that groundwater level has been depleting in certain areas, which is also a cause of concern though KMC is working towards its goals
Addressing the countrymen through his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', he said, "We all have to keep giving equal emphasis on recycling of water. The water used at home can be used in pots and can be used in gardening which can be done with a little effort."
India is witnessing a repeat of 2021 conditions, when temperatures touched 40oC as early as in February in some parts of the country.
The Dol celebration is centred on Bandhar Deul, a majestic temple that dates back to the eighth century.
Thakur stated that all the major district roads have been restored for vehicular traffic and all out efforts were made to open the link roads to ensure people do not face any inconvenience.
