Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday called for the effective implementation of all water supply schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Jammu and Kashmir to achieve their saturation.
Congress candidate from New Delhi Assembly constituency, Sandeep Dikshit, on Tuesday wrote to Lt. Governor VK Saxena and Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora demanding immediate action against Chief Minister Atishi and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal over their remarks on “poisoning” of Delhi’s water supply.
According to the minister, the water supply which was affected in Dwarka area will resume from Saturday night.
Hussain reviewed the boring work being carried out by the DJB and directed the officials to complete the work fast in view of the water requirements of the area.
The party's city unit said that Chandolia visited the site of the damaged embankment and later went to Haryana to temporarily stop the water supply from the Munak Canal to prevent further flooding in the vicinity of the canal breach.
DJB has advised residents of the area to keep sufficient water and also provided the options sending water tankers wherever the need arises.
DJB official said that RWA’s and people of the area have been informed about it earlier and approx. 30 to 35 tankers have been deputed by the DJB to cater to the needs of residents of the affected area.
It may be recalled here that the Rs 892 crore Buxi Jagabandhu Assured Water Supply to Habitations (BASUDHA) water project had evoked angry protests across Kendrapara district for the past fortnight.
Government of India initiated the Jal Jeevan Mission to provide safe and adequate quantity drinking water to every rural household of the country by 2024 with the motto “Har Ghar Jal”.
The rebate in principal amount will be on the basis of the category of colonies.
