Without naming Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, VP Dhankar said “The world laughs at us when a person in a Constitutional position engages in behaviour abroad that disregards their oath to the Constitution.”
Appealing to everyone to contribute to the ongoing campaign regarding the concept of 'Developed India' by 2047, he said that every person should make sacrifices in the havan of a developed India because whatever we can do for the country is less.
The Vice-President's remarks were apparently directed at the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his endorsement of Hindenburg Research's baseless and malicious report and also questioning of the credentials of market regulator, Securities and Exchanges Board of India (SEBI).
Speaking at the 10th National Handloom Day event, Dhankar described economic nationalism as fundamental to "our spinal economic growth and economic independence".
Addressing Members of the Rajya Sabha, Dhankhar said, " I have every hope that the proceedings of the House will be marked by enriching and informed debates, optimally utilising the time for national benefit."
Mr Dhankhar said if there is an existential issue before the planet, an existential problem, it is the climate change for over eight billion humanity. It's the worst problem humanity has ever faced, he said.
