The Election Commission on Thursday said the overall voter turnout in the Lok Sabha elections was recorded at 65.79 per cent.
West Bengal recorded the highest turnout at 69.89 per cent, followed by Jharkhand at 69.03 per cent and Himachal Pradesh at 67.39 per cent.
Varanasi Lok Sabha seat registered 56.35 per cent polling.
As per the ECI, Jharkhand is leading the voter turnout charts at 60.14 per cent till 3 pm.
With 31.9 per cent voting, Himachal Pradesh recorded the highest voter turnout in the first four hours.
The voting is currently underway on 57 constituencies spread over seven states and a Union Territory.
The seventh and last phase of voting is scheduled to take place on 1st June. The results will be declared on 4th June.
