She won but drowned Cong… she will annihilate wherever she goes: Brij Bhushan on Vinesh’s win
BJP leader and former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has congratulated the party workers on the victory in the Haryana Assembly elections.
BJP leader and former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has congratulated the party workers on the victory in the Haryana Assembly elections.
"This is the victory of every struggle, truth," said Congress leader Vinesh Phogat while speaking to reporters after her victory in the Haryana Assembly election from the Julana constituency.
Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat on Tuesday emerged victorious in Julana Assambly Constituency in Haryana as she defeated Bharitya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Yogesh Kumar as per the Election Commission of India.
Former Haryana CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda, who is contesting from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat, has also taken a strong lead against BJP's Manju Devi.
"PT Usha madam visited me at the hospital. One photo was clicked... Like you said, in politics a lot happens behind closed doors. Similarly, politics happened there (in Paris) as well. That's why I was heartbroken," she said.
The Delhi Palam 360 Khap chief Surendra Solanki welcomed Phogat and lauded her for defeating a world champion.
“The goal that we were working towards and what we had planned to achieve is unfinished, that something might always remain missing, and that things might never be the same again,” she wrote.
Chopra was quite literally the only silver lining in an otherwise underwhelming campaign in Paris where India finished 71st on the medal tally with one silver and five bronze medals. In Tokyo, India returned with a best-ever medal tally of seven, including Neeraj’s gold.
Vinesh was disqualified from the 50kg category women's freestyle final for being 100 gm overweight in the second weigh-in on the morning of the summit clash.
The operative part of the August 14 decision, which dismisses Vinesh’s application to be awarded a shared silver medal women’s 50 kg category at the Paris Olympic Games 2024, has significant implications for her in particular and the sporting community at large.
