Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has directed DG Home Guards for immediate appointment of 2,346 Home Guards, even as other 7,939 vacancies await final outcome of two pending court cases.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has approved the recruitment of 1,463 healthcare staff in a bid to address the shortage of healthcare personnel and improve the national capital’s public healthcare infrastructure.
This order of the LG, that follows a High Court decision, will exempt such societies /schools from paying additional FAR charges, in the process liberating them from red tape and the harassment of running around to the Education Department and DDA, the LG office said on Saturday.
“Instructed senior officials present to strictly adhere to timelines prescribed for upgrading and augmenting the infrastructure and manpower required for their smooth implementation,” stated the post.
The LG gave the direction at a meeting chaired by him to review the traffic situation in the city along with the Special CPs of the two traffic zones, the Transport Commissioner and the MCD on Friday.
During the meeting at the Raj Niwas, the delegation briefed the LG about some of the pressing issues affecting the people, and submitted a memorandum to him.
Saxena has also recommended the case to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for further action, as per a communique' issued by the LG office on Thursday.
All it required was a bit of concerted efforts, a sense of responsibility towards Delhi and an obvious intent to work for the people, said VK Saxena
Chairing a meeting, the LG reviewed the work done in the last two years and instructed officials on the future course of action.
