‘The Hell Race: Border Chapter’ pays tribute to Longewala Heroes of 1971

To commemorate Vijay Diwas, a wreath laying ceremony was organised at Veer Smriti in Chandimandir to pay homage to all the bravehearts who made supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation during 1971 war.
The army on Monday observed Vijay Diwas across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by gallant soldiers and defeat of Pakistan in 13 days to end the war on 16 December, 1971.
On the 53rd anniversary of Vijay Diwas, a gesture of camaraderie took place at the Akhura Indo-Bangladesh border located at Tripura, where senior army officers from India and Bangladesh exchanged sweets.
President Droupadi Murmu paid tribute to the brave soldiers of the 1971 war on Vijay Diwas, honoring their sacrifices and valor. In a post on X, the President expressed gratitude to the martyrs, stating that their ultimate sacrifice remains a source of inspiration and pride for the nation.
Preparations are in full swing for the 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas at Kargil War Memorial at Dras in Ladakh. Some jawans were seen painting the inscribed on an information plate on 75/24 Pack Howitzer.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala, also paid homage to the brave soldiers of India, a symbol of valor and courage.
Dawn newspaper in an article stated, “Pakistan and Bangladesh have multiple bilateral mechanisms, including foreign secretary-level consultations and Joint Economic Commission, but most have been suspended for years.”
'I congratulate all Indian citizens on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The sacrifices made by soldiers, which helped us win the Kargil war, will always be a source of inspiration for the armed forces,' Singh told reporters.
Each year 16 December is celebrated as VIJAY DIWAS to commemorate India's Military victory over Pakistan in 1971.
