Taking cognisance of increasing cyber crime incidents in view of digital penetration in the country, he noted that this was a new area of concern for agencies, investigators, regulators and legal fraternity, and called for developing technical and human expertise to tackle it.

As per Constitution of India, the Vice-President is elected by the members of the Electoral College consisting of the members of both Houses of Parliament in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote.
For the election, nomination papers can be submitted starting today up to July 19. The scrutiny for the nominations will take place on July 20 and the final list will be published on July 22.
