The Vice-President in his message said, "I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of Holi – the festival of colours. Celebrated with traditional fervour and enthusiasm throughout the country, Holi is a time for family and friends to come together and rejoice in the spirit of spontaneous, joyful celebration of life. The lighting of the bonfire on the eve of Holi symbolizes the triumph of virtue over evil."
The Vice-President deplored the disinformation and misinformation campaign by sections of international media against Indian democracy as certain powers were unable to digest the progress and emergence of India as a powerful nation.
Naidu was participating in the diamond jubilee celebrations of Sri Patibandla Seetharamaiah High School, Guntur.
The Vice President said, "Schools must include community service in their curriculum so that children develop an attitude of giving back to society at a young age."

Recalling his experience of working with enterprising civil servants, Naidu noted that many young officers have been bringing innovation into their work, in programmes like Swachh Bharat.

“We will not be able to create a healthy society if the health needs of women get neglected,” Vice President said.
“Any attack on the freedom of the Press is detrimental to the national interest, democracy cannot survive without a free and fearless media… a robust and vibrant media is as important as an independent judiciary in consolidating democracy and strengthening Constitutional rule of law,” the Vice-President said.
