Ungovernable Pradesh?

The first serious move to reorganize UP into four governable units came from an unexpected quarter the Bahujan Samaj Party. In 2011, the then Chief Minister Ms Mayawati took a decision which was approved by her cabinet to reconstitute UP into four new States Awadh Pradesh (23 districts), Paschim Pradesh (17 districts), Purvanchal (28 districts) and Bundelkhand (7 districts). However, the proposal was scuttled by Akhilesh Yadav in 2012

Trinamool to field candidates in UP for 2024 Lok Sabha polls

"We will not field any candidate in the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections as an 'expression of solidarity' towards Samajwadi Party and its chief Akhilesh Yadav. Trinamool will, however, contest from Uttar Pradesh in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections."

Battle for UP: Priyanka to hold door to door campaign in Noida

The Congress has given tickets to 40 per cent women and has sought votes for the empowerment of the fairer gender in the state. The party on Sunday released its fourth list of 61 candidates, including 24 women for the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh to be held in seven phases.
