Polling started at 7 AM and ended at 6 PM. At 9 AM the voting percentage in these 13 Lok Sabha seats was11.67, which rose to 27 12% at 11 AM, 39.68% at 1 PM , 48.41% at 3 PM and 56.35 % at 5PM.
Around 20 per cent of the candidates contesting Lok Sabha election in Uttar Pradesh in phase 5 have criminal cases registered against them while 37 per cent are crorepatis.
Now in 2024, it will be a herculean task for the BJP to retain these seats, especially since in most places, BJP candidates are aiming for a hat-trick of victories in the upcoming polls.
