MoU signed between Agri dept and UN body to focus on food security & nutrition

An MoU was signed between the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) to address the national priorities in food security and nutrition through capacity building and technical support.

On 9th of October, UNWFP was selected from amongst 318 nominees and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize - 2020 “for its efforts to combat hunger …. contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas …. and prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict”.
