The Centre and the state governments were rapidly engaged in fulfilling the ambitious target of making India a 'Developed Nation' by 2047.
Speaking at a function in Nagpur (Maharashtra), Tomar said the government took one step backward on farm laws, “But it is not disappointed and would take two step forward” for the welfare of farmers.
Addressing media persons after attending the BJP's Kisan Morcha meeting here, Tomar said: "We have always worked for the betterment of farmers and spoken about their interest."
The farm leaders did not accept the offer immediately, saying that they would hold internal discussions first. The next round of meeting between the two sides has been scheduled for January 22.
The seven hour long meeting between the centre and the farmers representatives failed to end the on going farmers protest. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar, led the negotiations, said that the government ‘has no ego’. The next meeting will be held on Saturday.
