Amid the fresh debate around the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Friday the committee tasked with preparing the draft of the UCC, which is to be implemented in the state, worked with a cross-section of citizens over the last one year, spoke to more than 2 lakh people and key stakeholders.
While speaking to reporters in Pune on Thursday, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar said the Central Government should give reservation to women before thinking about the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
"The Government should think about any possible storm that would come if they take a step in this direction (implement UCC)" Farooq said.
