Bhuvnesh Kumar assumed charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Wednesday. He is an officer of the 1995 batch IAS from the Uttar Pradesh cadre.
The Chairperson and the Members appointed shall hold office for a term of three years or up to the age of sixty-five years whichever is earlier, from the date on which they assume office.
The exercise is undertaken to make the operators aware of the latest changes in policies/procedures in the Aadhaar ecosystem and cut down errors at the operator’s level during enrolment, updates and authentication processes.
The facility can be availed under the ‘Verify email/mobile Number’ feature on the official website (https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/) or through mAadhaar App.
Private companies are not allowed to ask for Aadhaar card now. The court announced that Aadhaar linking was not mandatory for mobile phones and bank accounts.
The agency said that the “no operator can make or update Aadhaar unless resident himself give his biometric”.
An unauthorized person from anywhere in the world can generate Aadhaar ID using the patch, which is easily available for Rs 2,500.
The move by UIDAI is expected to come as a major relief to parents and students who have been facing difficulties due to schools insisting on Aadhaar number during admission.
The numbers can be manually deleted from the phones, Google said, promising to fix the issue in future editions of its setup wizard.
