The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of actor-turned nets Vijay on Monday dismissed as mere rumour and unfounded speculation of an alliance with the opposition AIADMK and asserted that the party is the prime political force to dethrone the DMK from power in the coming assembly poll.
Positioning itself as the primary anti-DMK and anti-BJP force in the state with an eye on the 2026 assembly elections, the fledgling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has condemned centralisation of powers by the BJP-led Union Government and the inability of the DMK to secure Tamil Nadu’s rights.
Congratulating actor-turned neta Vijay on the grand success of his party’s first political conference, south Indian superstar Rajinikanth, however, refrained from commenting on the criticism of the DMK as corrupt and the BJP as communal.
Ahead of the 2026 assembly elections, reigning Kollywood icon Vijay unveiled the flag and the song of his political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), in the city on Thursday.
