Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Z-Morh tunnel in Sonamarg. The 6.4-km tunnel worth over Rs 2,700 crore on the Srinagar-Leh highway will keep Sonamarg open to tourists round the year and is also touted as a major milestone to connect the Kashmir valley with Ladakh.

In a significant development, a 3,943-meter-long tunnel (No. T-06) of the Sevoke-Rangpo Rail Project (SRRP), located in Kalimpong district of West Bengal, achieved a breakthrough on Tuesday, according to a senior railway official.
