Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday inaugurated the Tulip Show-2025 at the iconic Tulip Garden in Srinagar, marking the arrival of spring in Kashmir.
Sheikh Fayaz said that Tulip Garden, recently included in the World Book of Records, is a pride for the Floriculture department and has greatly enhanced the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
These varieties will give an enchanting experience to the visitors making the splendid garden extremely beautiful, said Commissioner Secretary Floriculture Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad.
Preparations have begun to showcase the Tulip Garden in Srinagar to tourists in March next year when the flowers will be in full bloom.
This recognition hails the Tulip Garden as Asia’s largest tulip garden, adorned with a breath-taking array of 1.5 million tulip bulbs.
The president arrived at Shimla for a three-day visit on Tuesday and she will be staying at the Rashtrapati Niwas
In Srinagar every season has its own charm.
The garden houses 1.5 million flowers of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and muscari. These include 68 varieties of tulips, In-charge of Tulip Garden Inam Rehman Sofi said.
This is for the first time Modi has himself come forward to promote the Srinagar’s sprawling tulip garden which will open for tourists on Thursday with more than 15 lakh flowers that will be a feast for eyes of the visitors.
