Anticipating an attack on Kuki-Zo tribals in Manipur, various tribal organisations, including the Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF), have asked people not to travel outside Kuki-Zo dominated areas between September 26 and 29.
The stressful situation that followed a video of two Kuki-Zomi women being stripped and sexually assaulted in Manipur has created panic among the other small community of Meiteis living in Mizoram, according to recent reports many of them left the state on Saturday.
'It is the same as what has happened with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. What is happening in the northeastern states is a repeat of what has happened in J-K,' said the leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha.
