The 41-year-old revealed that he had applied for the national team coaching job when it became available in 2014 but was not taken seriously and the role went to Peter Moores.

Haddin will now join Trevor Bayliss in the SRH backroom staff. Bayliss was named the SRH head coach in July, replacing Tom Moody in the role.
Under Trevor Bayliss, England won the Ashes Series in 2015, reached the World T20 final in 2016, and went on to win their first-ever ODI World Cup last week.
