In a significant move aimed at supporting teachers in aided degree colleges across Uttar Pradesh, the state cabinet on Monday approved the New Higher Service Rules 2024, which allows teachers to request transfers after just three years of service, reducing the previous minimum requirement of five years.
This step comes as part of the state's ongoing efforts to curb online financial fraud, which has seen a sharp rise in recent months.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday issued a notice to the Chief Secretary (CS) of Maharashtra for alleged non compliance of its order directing to carry out the transfer/posting of all the officers/officials, ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in the state.

The transfer was done with a single click during a large public meeting in Chhipri village of Tikamgarh district on Friday evening.
This was revealed by the Delhi Police in reply to the query under Right to Information (RTI).
The official noted that the White House decision "amounts to a stand that any country can spread nuclear technology if it is in its interests, and this shows that the US is the chief culprit toppling the international nuclear non-proliferation system".
