Normal train services are available on the rest of the sections of Yellow Line.
As informed by the ER, the repairing of the overhead wires in the down line was completed at 10.05am. Normal train services in the Bandel-Nabadwip section were restored after that.
Rail blockades are staged by the Kamtapur State Demand Forum (KSDF), which is asking for a separate Kamtapur state.
Trains cancelled on Saturday are 12814 Tatanagar-Howrah Steel Express, 18004 Adra-Howrah Shiromani Express, 12828 Purulia-Howrah Express.
The daily train commuters from Hooghly, Bandel, Saptagram, Mogra and Talendu were most affected by the temporary suspension of train services to Bandel.
"As on August 1, Railways on a daily average basis operated 6,166 special trains, which included 1,517 mail or express trains and 846 passenger trains," the minister said.
The train service will operate between Banihal and Budgam stations but further service to Baramulla will remain suspended.
Talking to The Statesman, Trinamul Congress North 24- Parganas district president, Jyotipriyo Mullick, alleged “The MP, MLA and the civic body chairman, are quite apparently against restoring peace in the area. Today, the municipality was also attacked and vandalised.”
