The government on Monday clarified that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) does not initiate communication with customers regarding mobile number disconnection through messages or otherwise.
Telecom service providers have blacklisted 1,150 entities/individuals and disconnected more than 18.8 lakh resources, the government said on Wednesday, as it aims to further control the spread of spam calls and messages.
Internet subscribers in India went up from 969.60 million at the end of June to 971.50 million at the end of September, registering a quarterly rate of growth 0.20 per cent, the government said on Wednesday.

The authority believed that the implementation of these recommendations by the government will promote orderly growth in the M2M eSIM segment of the telecom sector in India and will stimulate the development of a homegrown M2M eSIM ecosystem in the country, thus enabling the growth of modern M2M communication.
