On Saturday, Odisha had reported 204 cases of Covid19 infections- 51% daily spike of infection.
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded at 1.21% Test Positivity Rate (TPR) in the last 24 hours while the cumulative tally went up to 12,89,757, said the health and family welfare department.
The new Covid-19 cases were reported from 30 districts. While 1,495 are from quarantine centres, the remaining 1,107 are local contact cases.
The death toll of 51 released by the government however does not reflect the fatality of the past 24 hours, according to health officials.
The State’s recovery rate currently stands at 95.71% while the active cases account for 3.85% of total positive cases registered in the State.
He also warned that even though the peak in the second wave is over, experts have predicted a third wave, and people who were vaccinated but have co-morbidities should be careful and have to continue with the caution.
