Eastern Himalaya Travel & Tour Operators' Association (EHTTOA), the largest platform in East and North East India, organised a programme, 'New Horizon (Naya Sabera),' here today on the eve of World Tourism Day.
EHTTOA president Debasish Maitra said stakeholders of the tourism industry are fighting for their right to livelihood, while all sectors are working at present.
"We are ready. We are expecting a good season in October and November. We want to come back with a bang," Dhond said.
The industry, which had not seen a significant rise in the number of visitors earlier this year, is skeptical that the ongoing protests would hit harder.
Over the next decade, travel and tourism is forecast to successfully continue its rapid expansion, overtaking huge global economic sectors such as communications, manufacturing, retail and distribution among others.
