The deceased VDG members have been identified as Nazir Ahmad and Kuldeep Kumar. Reports indicate that the terrorists tortured the two VDG members, gouged out their eyes, and then shot them dead.

“Alert troops foiled an infiltration bid by effectively engaging infiltrating terrorists with effective fire in the Battal sector at 3 am. During the exchange of heavy fire, one braveheart was injured. Operations are continuing,” the White Knight Corps said in a post on X.
The two firefights took place between 12 midnight and 2 am on Wednesday but no casualty was reported. Taking advantage of pitch dark, the terrorists managed to escape, officials said.
A day after the terrorist attack in which five army soldiers were killed in Kathua district, a fierce gunfight broke out on Tuesday between the security forces and militants in the forests of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The soldier lost his life in a gunfight that broke out in Modergam village of Kulgam in the morning when the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists.
