2 terrorists killed in Anantnag, encounters underway in Srinagar, Bandipora

Two unidentified terrorists were killed and five security forces personnel, including a police officer, injured on Saturday in an encounter in south Kashmir’s Arigam area of the Kulgam district.
Confirming the killing of two terrorists, the Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army wrote on X; “Two terrorists neutralised in the Ongoing Operation at Khandara #Kathua by Troops of Rising Star Corps. Operations in progress.”
A US-made M4 rifle with sight attachment, two AK47 rifles, a pistol and 8 hand grenades were among the cache of arms and ammunition recovered during a search operation at the encounter spot.
A Pakistani intruder was killed during the gunfight and another soldier seriously injured. The injured soldier was evacuated to the military hospital for treatment.
A defence spokesman said that weapons and war-like stores have been recovered from the spot.
The Indian Army on Thursday described the killing of the two terrorists in Hadipora area ‘a big success’ for the security forces.
Confirming the development, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said based on specific intelligence input, a joint operation was launched by the Army and J&K police on the intervening night of 16-17 June in general area of Gurihajin, Aragam Bandipora; one terrorist has been eliminated.
A large number of arms and ammunition comprising AK56, 1x9mm Pistol, grenades and ammunition pouch was recovered from the terrorist.
The firefight started after a joint team of police and security forces got an input about the presence of terrorists in the area.
